Abstract

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common endocrine and metabolic disorders among women of reproductive age. The syndrome is characterized by ovulatory dysfunction, hyperandrogenism, and polycystic ovarian morphology. Delayed diagnosis of PCOS may lead to reproductive disorders, metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, and an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases. This article analyzes the importance of early detection of PCOS in women aged 18–30 years, modern diagnostic criteria, and preventive strategies from a scientific perspective.
