The article examines the pedagogical value of integrating digital storytelling into language learning and highlights its effectiveness in developing students’ linguistic, communicative, and creative abilities. The author argues that digital storytelling combines traditional narrative structures with modern multimedia tools, allowing learners to engage with language in authentic, meaningful, and highly interactive contexts. The article outlines key components of digital storytelling, such as scriptwriting, storyboarding, audio recording, visual design, and video editing, demonstrating how each stage contributes to vocabulary expansion, grammatical accuracy, narrative cohesion, and oral fluency.
The study also explores the role of digital storytelling in promoting learner autonomy, motivation, and collaboration. By involving students in the creation of personal or culturally relevant stories, teachers can foster deeper engagement and improve students’ confidence in language production. The article further highlights that digital storytelling enhances digital literacy and strengthens 21st-century skills, including critical thinking and multimodal communication. Research findings presented in the article show that learners who participate in digital storytelling activities demonstrate notable improvements in listening comprehension, pronunciation, writing organization, and creative expression.
