MOBILE-ASSISTED LEARNING AS AN INNOVATIVE STRATEGY IN ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE EDUCATION

The increasing use of mobile technologies has brought significant changes to English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teaching and learning practices. Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL) has developed as an innovative educational strategy that supports language learning beyond traditional classroom settings. This article investigates the pedagogical value of mobile-assisted learning in EFL contexts, with particular attention to learner autonomy, motivation, and language skill development. Employing a qualitative analytical approach, the study reviews recent academic research on mobile-based language learning tools and practices. The analysis demonstrates that mobile-assisted learning contributes positively to vocabulary development, oral skills, and learner engagement by offering flexible, interactive, and personalized learning opportunities. At the same time, challenges such as learner distraction, unequal technological access, and limited teacher preparedness remain evident. The article concludes that mobile-assisted learning can be an effective and sustainable strategy for EFL education when it is integrated with sound pedagogical principles.
