THE USE OF AUTHENTIC MATERIALS IN EFL CLASSROOMS

Abstract
This study explores the role of authentic materials in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms and their impact on learners’ motivation and communicative competence. Authentic materials such as newspapers, videos, and online resources help students experience real-life English and improve language skills naturally. However, challenges such as limited teacher training and lack of resources reduce their effectiveness. The research emphasizes the need for systematic integration of authentic materials into teaching practices to enhance motivation, language proficiency, and cultural awareness among Uzbek learners.
