Abstract

This article examines the strategic role of environmental policy under conditions of accelerating global ecological transformation and analyzes its growing significance within contemporary systems of public governance. The study explores the institutional, political, and governance dimensions of environmental policy in the context of climate change, resource scarcity, and ecological risks. Particular attention is devoted to environmental governance, institutional coordination, sustainable development, and the integration of ecological priorities into long-term state strategy. The article further analyzes the geopolitical and institutional dimensions of environmental governance in Central Asia and Uzbekistan. It is argued that environmental policy is increasingly evolving into a strategic mechanism for ensuring institutional resilience, sustainable development, and effective governance under conditions of global environmental change.
