This article scientifically analyzes the linguistic features of abbreviations in English, their main types, and the features of their use in modern speech. During the study, abbreviations in English were studied morphologically and semantically, and their functional role in the communicative process was determined. The features of the use of abbreviations in scientific, official, and everyday speech were also analyzed.
