Abstract

This article examines the issue of interlinguistic transfer of occasional phraseological units in English and Uzbek from linguistic and translation studies perspectives. The authorial nature, semantic specificity, and cultural connotations of occasional phraseologisms create certain difficulties in the process of transferring them into another language. Based on examples drawn from English and Uzbek literary texts, the study analyzes the problems of equivalence, adequacy, and functional correspondence in the translation of occasional phraseological units. In addition, the main strategies applied in the process of interlinguistic transfer are identified and their effectiveness is evaluated. The research findings are of theoretical and practical significance for the fields of translation studies and contrastive linguistics.
