Abstract

Thyroid gland diseases can be accompanied by disturbances in its endocrine activity. These disorders arise due to either systemic changes in the gland or localized alterations. Depending on the functional state of the thyroid gland, the disease may manifest as hyperfunction or hypofunction. The clinical characteristics of these conditions differ fundamentally from one another.
