The article describes the conditions for motivating students to engage in physical education and sports, motivation to comply with the norms of a healthy lifestyle, the role of physical activity for the health of students, the selection of physical exercises based on the physical fitness of those involved, recommendations of sports suitable for students of non-specialized higher educational institutions.
