THE SPECIFIC FEATURES OF DEVELOPING DISCURSIVE COMPETENCE IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE LEARNING BASED ON A COMPETENCE-BASED APPROACH
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article examines the specific features of forming discursive competence in foreign language learning within the framework of a competence-based approach. Discursive competence is considered as an essential component of communicative competence, ensuring learners’ ability to construct coherent, contextually appropriate, and meaningful oral and written discourse. The study highlights the theoretical foundations of the competence-based approach and its methodological implications for foreign language education. Particular attention is paid to the integration of linguistic, sociocultural, pragmatic, and strategic competencies in the process of developing discursive skills. The article also analyzes effective teaching methods and instructional strategies aimed at enhancing learners’ discourse production and comprehension abilities. The findings emphasize that a competence-based approach promotes learners’ active participation, autonomy, and critical thinking, thereby contributing to the formation of sustainable and functional discursive competence in foreign language learning.
