COLLABORATIVE LEARNING STRATEGIES AND GROUP WORK METHODOLOGY
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study examines collaborative learning strategies and group work methodology as essential approaches in contemporary education. Collaborative learning emphasizes active student engagement, social interaction, and shared responsibility in achieving learning outcomes. The research explores theoretical foundations, including Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory and the Zone of Proximal Development, and highlights practical strategies such as the jigsaw method, problem-based learning, peer tutoring, and group discussions. The study also addresses the role of instructors, group dynamics, assessment methods, technological support, and cultural considerations in facilitating effective collaboration. Findings indicate that well-structured collaborative learning enhances cognitive, social, and emotional development, promotes critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and prepares students for diverse academic and professional environments. Challenges such as unequal participation and social loafing are discussed, with recommendations for best practices in implementation.
