THE ROLE OF ONLINE PLATFORMS IN STUDENTS’ SELF-EDUCATION

This article examines the role of online learning platforms in fostering students’ self-education, based on the case of Uzbekistan state world languages university. The study explores how university students utilize digital resources, web-based educational tools, and virtual learning environments to enhance their independent learning skills. The findings indicate that online platforms support the development of learner autonomy, responsibility, research initiative, time management, and digital literacy. The article also analyzes the pedagogical interaction between teacher and student in online settings, highlighting the motivational and methodological advantages of digital learning tools. However, certain challenges such as internet accessibility, self-discipline, and the difficulty of navigating large amounts of information are also identified. The study concludes that effective and purposeful integration of online platforms can significantly improve the quality of students’ self-directed learning and contribute to the individualization of the educational process.
