Abstract

This article explores the role of storytelling as an effective pedagogical tool for improving students' speaking skills in the context of language learning. It highlights how storytelling promotes fluency, vocabulary enrichment, pronunciation, and communicative competence through engaging and meaningful language use. Drawing upon socio-cultural and constructivist theories, the article emphasizes the cognitive and emotional benefits of storytelling. Practical classroom strategies and their implementation are discussed alongside potential challenges and corresponding solutions. The study concludes that storytelling should be considered a central component of communicative language teaching, particularly in EFL environments where authentic speaking opportunities are limited.
