Abstract

Natural antioxidants have attracted substantial scientific and clinical attention due to their potential role in preventing oxidative stress–related diseases and promoting overall human health. These compounds, primarily derived from plant-based foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, and herbs, function by neutralizing reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reducing cellular damage. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive academic analysis of natural antioxidants and their physiological, biochemical, and clinical implications. The results demonstrate that natural antioxidants significantly contribute to reducing the risk of chronic diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and neurodegenerative disorders. However, the extent of their effectiveness depends on dosage, bioavailability, and individual health conditions. The discussion highlights both the benefits and limitations of antioxidant consumption, emphasizing the importance of dietary balance. The study concludes that while natural antioxidants play a crucial role in health maintenance, further empirical research is necessary to clarify optimal intake levels and long-term effects.
