Abstract

In modern language education, the development of speaking fluency is a central goal in forming communicative competence. While traditional approaches often emphasize accuracy and controlled practice, they may not adequately prepare learners for spontaneous communication. This article explores a range of practical and research-informed strategies aimed at improving speaking fluency in English as a foreign language (EFL) contexts. Particular attention is given to communicative practice, learner autonomy, interaction patterns, and the integration of listening and speaking. The paper also discusses common challenges faced by learners and offers pedagogical recommendations for fostering a supportive and effective learning environment.
