Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a major chronic disease that significantly contributes to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular morbidity and mortality. Although the relationship between diabetes and vascular disease is well established, the role of fasting blood glucose levels in people without diabetes remains uncertain.
