THE CURRENT STATE OF DEVELOPING SOCIAL COMPETENCIES IN PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS IN THE CONTEXT OF DIGITAL EDUCATION

Abstract
The rapid digitalization of education has significantly transformed teaching and learning processes, placing new demands on the professional competencies of future teachers. Among these, social competencies have gained particular importance, as digital learning environments require effective communication, collaboration, adaptability, and ethical interaction in both virtual and blended educational settings. The development of social competencies in pre-service teachers is therefore a critical factor in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of modern education.
This study examines the current state of social competency development among pre-service teachers within the context of digital education. The research focuses on how digital learning environments, educational technologies, and online interaction influence the formation of communication skills, teamwork abilities, digital citizenship, and socio-emotional competence. Particular attention is given to the role of higher education institutions in integrating digital tools and pedagogical strategies aimed at fostering socially competent and digitally literate teachers.
