Abstract

This study examines the educational and moral significance of spelling exercises in primary education. It highlights how systematic spelling instruction contributes not only to linguistic proficiency but also to cognitive development, critical thinking, socio-emotional growth, and ethical formation in young learners. The research emphasizes the role of spelling exercises in fostering metalinguistic awareness, cross-curricular learning, digital literacy, problem-solving skills, and inclusive education. Evidence from recent studies demonstrates that spelling activities enhance memory, attention, phonological processing, creativity, and student engagement. Furthermore, spelling exercises provide diagnostic insights that help educators tailor instruction to individual needs, supporting equitable and effective literacy development. Overall, spelling practice is presented as a multifaceted pedagogical tool essential for academic success and holistic child development.
