Abstract

The crisis of aging is a complex psychological phenomenon influenced by cognitive decline, health challenges, social role loss, and existential concerns. This paper examines the underlying psychological mechanisms of the aging crisis, including resilience, goal reorientation, cognitive restructuring, and meaning-making. It also explores effective coping strategies such as social engagement, intergenerational interaction, intrapersonal interventions, and societal support systems. Evidence from empirical research highlights the importance of maintaining autonomy, purpose, and social connectedness to promote psychological well-being and life satisfaction in older adults.
