Abstract

This paper explores the use of interactive teaching methods in mother tongue and reading literacy lessons, emphasizing their role in enhancing students’ linguistic competence, critical thinking, communicative abilities, and reading comprehension. The study analyzes contemporary pedagogical approaches grounded in constructivist theory, socio-cultural learning principles, dialogic teaching, and learner-centered instruction. The paper highlights how interactive strategies—such as collaborative learning, role-play, gamification, digital tools, inquiry-based tasks, discussion circles, peer assessment, and project-based learning—encourage active participation, foster creativity, and improve literacy outcomes. Furthermore, the research elaborates on the psychological and pedagogical foundations of interactive learning, the cognitive mechanisms activated through interactive tasks, and the significance of motivation, engagement, and metacognitive awareness in literacy development. Practical examples and evidence from global educational systems are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of interactive methods in supporting reading fluency, vocabulary acquisition, grammar understanding, narrative skills, and text interpretation at different grade levels. The paper concludes that integrating interactive techniques in mother tongue and reading literacy lessons substantially contributes to developing independent, confident, and competent readers capable of analyzing, interpreting, and producing various text forms.
