This article critically examines the intricate relationship between cinema and theatre, two fundamental forms of storytelling and performance. Both mediums share common ground in their reliance on narrative structure, character portrayal, and the creation of immersive experiences for an audience. However, significant divergences arise from their distinct technical apparatus, the ephemeral nature of live performance versus the permanence of film, and their respective production methodologies. By dissecting these parallels and contrasts, this study illuminates how each art form influences and distinguishes itself from the other. Ultimately, understanding these dynamics enriches our appreciation of their unique contributions to cultural expression.
