Abstract

Russian language competence is essential in multilingual healthcare settings where effective communication directly influences patient care. In many Central Asian and post-Soviet countries, Russian remains widely used in clinical consultations, medical terminology, and hospital documentation. This article examines the role of Russian language proficiency in doctor–patient communication, the accurate use of medical terminology, and medical record preparation. The study demonstrates that insufficient language competence may lead to misunderstandings, documentation errors, and reduced patient safety. Therefore, Russian for medical purposes should be integrated into medical education through clinically oriented language training and documentation practice.
