Abstract

Lexicalization and lexemization are among the most significant processes in vocabulary development and language change. They contribute to the formation of new lexical units, semantic expansion, and the enrichment of linguistic systems. This article examines lexicalization and lexemization in English and Uzbek from comparative and historical perspectives. The study explores their theoretical foundations, structural characteristics, and functional roles in language development. The findings indicate that despite typological differences, both languages utilize lexicalization and lexemization as productive mechanisms for vocabulary growth and semantic innovation.
