Abstract

Phraseology, a specialized branch of linguistics alongside lexicology and morphology, studies fixed, idiomatic expressions in a language, such as phrases, proverbs, and idioms, and their conceptualization. It plays an important role in the structure of discourse. This article examines the similarities and differences between English and Uzbek phraseologies from lexical, semantic, and cultural perspectives, employing descriptive and comparative methods.
