OPTICAL LENSES: THEIR APPLICATION AND SIGNIFICANCE IN MEDICINE
Main Article Content
Abstract
Optical lenses are essential components of modern medicine, used in diagnostics, vision correction, imaging, and therapeutic systems. This paper provides an overview of the optical principles governing lens function and reviews their medical applications, ranging from spectacles and contact lenses to intraocular and smart therapeutic lenses. Several analytical formulas describing lens performance are introduced. The review integrates findings from contemporary studies and highlights how advances in materials and design have expanded the medical potential of optical lenses. Recent developments show that lenses can now monitor diseases, deliver drugs, and assist in surgery, making them indispensable tools in healthcare.
