Abstract

This article examines the contemporary epidemiological characteristics of HIV infection and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS), their significance in dental practice, and practitioner tactics. HIV infection manifests in various forms in the oral cavity, making early diagnosis and preventive measures of critical importance for dental practitioners. The article analyzes safety protocols, clinical signs in the oral cavity, diagnostic approaches, and principles for providing dental care to patients living with HIV. The necessity of adhering to universal precautions and aseptic-antiseptic procedures in the professional activities of dental practitioners is substantiated.
