Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) has produced an expanding body of specialized terminology in English. In contrast, Uzbek terminology in this field is still developing, with many borrowed or hybrid terms. This study aims to analyze and compare the terminology of AI and ML in English and Uzbek, focusing on structural formation, borrowing strategies, and semantic adaptation. The research applies descriptive and contrastive methods to identify similarities and differences in term formation and usage. The findings reveal that while English terminology mainly relies on compounding and derivation, Uzbek tends to adopt English loanwords through transliteration and partial calque translation. The paper highlights the need for systematic term standardization in Uzbek and suggests strategies for creating culturally and linguistically appropriate equivalents.
