EFFECTIVE METHODS OF TEACHING PROFESSIONAL VOCABULARY IN ENGLISH TO TECHNICAL COLLEGE STUDENTS
Main Article Content
Abstract
This expanded study explores pedagogically grounded and practice-oriented approaches to teaching professional English vocabulary to students in technical colleges. As technical education increasingly integrates global standards, the mastery of English terminology has become essential for students pursuing careers in engineering, information technology, mechanics, construction, and other vocational fields. The research synthesizes theoretical frameworks from English for Specific Purposes (ESP), communicative methodology, cognitive linguistics, and vocational pedagogy. It further incorporates practical insights obtained through observation of classroom practices and interviews with English teachers working in technical colleges. The results demonstrate that contextualized learning, task-based instruction, digital platforms, multimodal learning resources, and project-based learning considerably enhance students’ motivation, lexical retention, and ability to apply vocabulary in real professional scenarios. The study provides methodological recommendations for optimizing ESP vocabulary instruction in technical education institutions.
