This scientific article analyzes the state of freshwater resources on land and their impact on human life and the global ecological environment. Today, the limited availability of freshwater, its environmental pollution, climate change, demographic growth, as well as the increasing demand related to irrigation and industrial needs, pose a serious threat to the fate of humanity. During the study, the socio-economic and ecological consequences of freshwater scarcity, as well as modern approaches to sustainable water resource management, are examined. The article provides conclusions regarding the protection of water resources, the implementation of renewable technologies, and the importance of international cooperation.
