DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ SOCIAL COMPETENCE THROUGH TEACHING MODERN HISTORY OF UZBEKISTAN: THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS

This article examines the theoretical, methodological, and practical principles for developing students’ social competence through the teaching of Modern History of Uzbekistan. It systematically explores how essential competencies—such as social engagement, civic responsibility, human rights literacy, historical consciousness, critical thinking, and respect for cultural heritage—are cultivated within the educational process. The role of history as a tool for social and civic development is analyzed in relation to national and international educational policies, European education standards, modern pedagogical technologies, and national spiritual values. Drawing on domestic and foreign sources, the article provides recommendations for organizing education oriented toward humanistic and civic reforms.
