Abstract

Climate change is one of the most pressing global challenges of the 21st century, and its effects on water resources have profound geographical, ecological, and socio-economic implications. This study explores the spatial and temporal patterns of climate change impacts on freshwater availability, distribution, and quality. Using a review of scientific literature, geographic information systems (GIS) data, and case studies, the paper analyzes how shifts in precipitation, glacial retreat, and sea-level rise are reshaping global hydrology. The results emphasize regional disparities in water availability, increasing risks of droughts and floods, and socio-political conflicts related to transboundary rivers. Understanding these dynamics is essential for formulating adaptive water management strategies.
