Abstract

This article explores the linguocultural aspects of address forms in English and German. Forms of address are important linguistic tools that reflect social relationships,  cultural  values,  and  communicative norms  within  a  speech

community . The study examines the similarities and differences between English and German address systems, focusing on pronouns, titles, honorifics, and naming conventions. The analysis demonstrates that address forms serve not only grammatical functions but also convey cultural meanings related to politeness, social distance, hierarchy, and identity. The findings highlight the role of language in shaping intercultural communication and emphasize the importance of understanding address forms in foreign language learning.
