This article examines the growing use and importance of writing reports in modern English, focusing particularly on their pedagogical application in English Language Teaching (ELT) classrooms. As academic and professional communication increasingly relies on well-structured reports, teaching report writing has become an essential component of language education. The study explores how report writing has evolved in contemporary English, identifies its key linguistic and structural features, and discusses effective classroom strategies that help learners master this genre. Findings indicate that report writing enhances students’ analytical thinking, academic literacy, and communicative competence. Integrating report-writing tasks into ELT classrooms strengthens learners’ ability to organize information, express ideas logically, and adapt to various professional contexts.
