 This article explores the continuing significance of botnet security in an era increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence (AI) and automation. It discusses the origins and evolution of botnets, their modern transformation through AI technologies, and the emerging challenges in detecting and defending against intelligent cyber threats. The paper highlights the dual nature of AI—as both a powerful defense tool and a potential weapon for enhancing botnet capabilities. Furthermore, it emphasizes the need for ethical cybersecurity practices, global collaboration, and adaptive defense mechanisms to safeguard digital infrastructures against AI-driven botnet attacks.
