Soybean (Glycine max L.) is one of the most important leguminous crops worldwide, valued for its high protein and oil content. It serves as a staple in human nutrition, livestock feed, and industrial applications. In recent years, the demand for soybean has grown significantly due to its role in food security, sustainable agriculture, and the global economy. This article reviews the agronomic characteristics, nutritional value, cultivation practices, and recent scientific advances in soybean production. Emphasis is placed on the significance of soybean as a source of plant-based protein, its role in soil fertility improvement through biological nitrogen fixation, and future prospects for climate-resilient cultivation.
