This article examines the role and importance of Free Economic Zones (FEZs) in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) and promoting sustainable economic development. It analyzes the institutional, legal, and economic mechanisms that make FEZs attractive for international investors, including tax incentives, simplified administrative procedures, developed infrastructure, and favorable business conditions. The study also highlights the impact of FEZs on regional development, employment creation, technology transfer, and export potential enhancement. Furthermore, the paper evaluates international experience and provides insights into how FEZs contribute to increasing the investment attractiveness of national economies, with particular attention to developing countries. The findings suggest that effectively managed FEZs serve as a key tool for improving investment inflows and accelerating economic modernization.
