Entrepreneurial Orientation and Success: A Study of Small Enterprises in Kendari City
Abstract
This study, Entrepreneurial Orientation and Success: A Study of Small Enterprises in Kendari City, examines the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and the success of small enterprises in Kendari, Indonesia. EO, which encompasses innovativeness, risk-taking, and proactiveness, is often viewed as a key determinant of business growth and sustainability. Through a combination of surveys, interviews, and case studies, the research explores how small business owners in Kendari adopt entrepreneurial orientations and how these orientations impact their operational success. The findings suggest that businesses with a strong entrepreneurial orientation are more likely to report higher levels of growth, adaptability, and profitability. The study highlights specific EO dimensions, such as innovation and risk-taking, as critical drivers of success, particularly in the context of local market dynamics and challenges. Additionally, the research identifies factors that can either enhance or hinder the effectiveness of EO, including access to resources, market competition, and managerial capabilities. Based on these insights, the study provides recommendations for small enterprises in Kendari to strengthen their entrepreneurial orientation in order to foster long-term success and competitiveness in a rapidly changing business environment.
