Abstract

Bruxism, or involuntary teeth grinding, is a common problem affecting a significant portion of the world's population. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), this condition affects 22.22% of the population, making it one of the most pressing issues in dentistry and medicine in general. Despite its apparent harmlessness, bruxism can lead to serious health consequences, making its study and treatment an important area of research in modern science and practice.

One of the most obvious consequences of bruxism is damage to tooth enamel. Constantly grinding teeth against each other causes them to wear down, crack, and chip. Over the long term, this can lead to increased tooth sensitivity, cavities, and even tooth loss. Bruxism also negatively impacts gum health, causing inflammation and recession.
