Benign epilepsies of childhood represent a group of age-related epilepsy syndromes characterized by favorable prognosis, normal neurological development, and spontaneous remission in adolescence. Despite their benign course, these epilepsies require accurate diagnosis to differentiate them from more severe epileptic encephalopathies. Clinical presentation and electroencephalographic (EEG) patterns play a crucial role in syndrome identification and management. This article analyzes the clinical and electrophysiological features of benign epilepsies in children, emphasizing their diagnostic significance and prognostic value. Understanding characteristic seizure semiology and EEG findings allows timely diagnosis, appropriate treatment selection, and avoidance of unnecessary therapeutic interventions.
