This article presents the results of a comparative study of neopterin levels in oral fluid and plasma in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The relationship between this indicator and the activity of systemic inflammation, the severity of periodontal tissue damage, and clinical and laboratory markers of disease activity (CRP, IL-6, DAS28) is demonstrated. The diagnostic and prognostic value of neopterin determination in oral fluid as a marker of the local immune response is substantiated.
