THE INFLUENCE OF EUROPEAN ROMANTICISM ON THE FORMATION OF THE RUSSIAN ROMANTIC TRADITION IN THE 19TH CENTURY
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article analyzes the influence of European Romanticism on the formation of the Russian Romantic tradition in the 19th century. It examines how the ideas, motifs, and artistic forms characteristic of European authors, particularly the English poet Lord Byron, were adopted and reinterpreted by Russian writers, specifically Alexander Pushkin. Despite borrowing European artistic principles, Russian Romanticism acquired unique features: a special focus on the hero's inner world, a synthesis of historical-philosophical motifs with national themes, and a specific combination of lyricism and epic narrative.
