PECULIAR FEATURES OF THE IMMUNE SYSTEM AND ADAPTATION MECHANISMS DURING PREGNANCY
Main Article Content
Abstract
Pregnancy is a complex physiological process occurring in the female body, during which significant changes take place in the functioning of the immune system. The maternal organism must simultaneously maintain sufficient protection against infectious agents while preserving the genetically foreign fetus. This article provides a scientific analysis of the specific features of the immune system during pregnancy, adaptation mechanisms of innate and adaptive immunity, changes in cellular and humoral immune responses, cytokine balance, the influence of hormonal factors on the immune system, and the immunological role of the fetoplacental complex. The results of the study demonstrate that the formation of immune tolerance mechanisms during pregnancy plays a crucial role in ensuring maternal and fetal health. This article is intended for medical university students, master’s students, researchers, and practicing physicians.
