Abstract

This paper provides a systematic and in-depth analysis of the formation, dissemination, and social significance of slang words in the Khorezm dialect. Within the scope of the study, the usage of slang among youth, local communities, and professional groups, as well as its role in social identification and group cohesion, has been examined. The paper also explores the linguistic aspects of slang — including morphological, semantic, and lexical characteristics — alongside its function in social communication. The research draws on the works of Russian, English, and Uzbek linguists, highlighting methods of slang formation and development, including abbreviations, metaphors, word combinations, affixation, and borrowing. The analysis demonstrates that slang in the Khorezm dialect reflects not only the dynamic nature of language but also the cultural and social identity of local communities. Moreover, it emphasizes the significance of slang in shaping linguistic dynamics, strengthening intergroup social interactions, and conveying distinctive features of speech culture. The results of this study contribute to a deeper understanding of the Khorezm dialect slang and provide valuable insights for the fields of linguistics and sociolinguistics.
