This article examines the theoretical and methodological foundations of innovative development in the service sector. It analyzes the role of the service sector in the economy and its key characteristics (intangibility, simultaneous production and consumption, non-storable nature, quality dependent on the human factor, and individualization). It also outlines the concept of innovative development, its specifics in the service sector, and the main areas of service sector modernization based on international experience.
