Abstract

Environmental taxes are recognized as a crucial economic tool for promoting sustainable development and supporting the green economy. This study analyzes the role of environmental taxation in influencing production and consumption patterns, reducing pollution, and encouraging investment in environmentally friendly technologies. Using Uzbekistan’s Tax Code, legislative acts, and statistical data, the research demonstrates that environmental taxes can drive sustainable economic growth while ensuring ecological protection. Challenges include limited tax coverage, administrative capacity, and public awareness, which require policy improvements to maximize effectiveness.
