Abstract

Anatomy is a fundamental discipline in medical education, forming the basis for understanding clinical sciences and medical practice. Traditionally, anatomy has been taught using lectures, textbooks, and cadaver-based dissection. However, recent advances in educational technology have introduced modern teaching methods such as digital atlases, virtual reality, three-dimensional (3D) models, and interactive learning platforms. This article aims to compare the effectiveness of traditional and modern methods in anatomy teaching, focusing on learning outcomes, student engagement, and knowledge retention. The analysis demonstrates that while traditional methods remain essential for developing deep anatomical understanding, modern approaches enhance visualization, accessibility, and student motivation. An integrated teaching strategy that combines both approaches appears to be the most effective model for contemporary anatomy education.
