Abstract

The human heart is a central organ of the circulatory system, responsible for pumping blood throughout the body to sustain life. Its intricate anatomy, composed of chambers, valves, specialized muscle fibers, and a highly organized conduction system, enables coordinated contraction and efficient circulation. This article reviews the gross and microscopic anatomy of the heart, emphasizing its structural adaptations for function, clinical significance, and relevance to cardiovascular diseases.
