Abstract

This article examines the growing need for reform of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in the context of a rapidly evolving multipolar world. As global power dynamics shift and new regional actors emerge, the legitimacy, effectiveness, and inclusiveness of the UNSC are increasingly called into question. This paper explores why multilateral diplomacy remains a vital mechanism for maintaining international peace and security, and how reforming the UNSC can help restore confidence in global governance. Drawing on historical developments, institutional critiques, and reform proposals, the study offers a balanced perspective on the prospects and limitations of meaningful reform.
