Abstract

In recent years, the active implementation of advanced technologies and innovative research methodologies in the archaeology of Uzbekistan has significantly enhanced the effectiveness of scholarly outcomes. This article examines issues related to the lifestyle, economic practices, and daily diet of medieval populations based on archaeozoological evidence. The study presents a comparative analysis of data derived from both earlier and recent investigations conducted at archaeological sites across various regions of Uzbekistan. As a result, general patterns of diversity and variability in animal species identified at sites in Ancient Khorezm and other regions are synthesized. Furthermore, the article proposes preliminary interpretations of the factors underlying this diversity and addresses the nature of socio-economic and cultural interactions between sedentary and nomadic communities.
