Abstract

This article examines the influence of phonetic changes in Uzbek dialects on the development of the standard language. The study focuses on the phonetic features observed in regional dialects and analyzes their role in shaping pronunciation norms, enriching the sound system, and influencing the evolution of the literary language. Uzbek dialects preserve a wide range of phonetic variations that reflect the historical, territorial, and social diversity of the language. Some of these features remain limited to local speech, while others gradually affect the standard language through communication, migration, education, and mass media. The article highlights the importance of dialectal phonetic phenomena in understanding language development, linguistic interaction, and the relationship between regional speech and the national language. Special attention is given to the sociolinguistic and historical significance of phonetic variation in the Uzbek language.
